Written on December 24, 2006 at 3:14 am, by Fogmann
I figured I should do one of the naked muscular dudes to get better with anatomy, so here goes the sculpt thus far: He is only under 130k polies, so there’s plenty more details to be added later, but I kind of wanted to have a really decent human male model that I can use Read more...

There’s another challenge going on over at Polycount, and I decided to go for it, since I was wanting to make a female character. The theme is redesign of Street Fighter character, and I chose Rose. The update for my detective has been long overdue. That’s right, a whole couple of days I have those shiny new renders of high poly model that I didn’t get around to posting here yet. 1024×1024 color + specular + normal textures 896 tris, not including the eyes. So, that’s just the head for now, and I’m starting to work on high poly body. I’ll do it piece by piece, so next will be the trench coat. That should be fun. My recurring concern is how to model cloth folds Read more...
A Landscaping Project – WIP 03
Written on August 25, 2006 at 2:21 pm, by Fogmann
I am almost done with this project at this point. There will have to be some changes made to the layout and blueprint, and I also plan to render an animated flythrough, utilizing Paint Effects physics to add some windy turbulence to the plants. I’ve also rendered out images for four different months: March, Jun, Read more...
A Landscaping Project, WIP 02
Written on August 19, 2006 at 3:13 pm, by Fogmann
After importing an .obj from SketchUp into Maya, the work mainly consisted of fixing textures, because the UVs were all messed up, and I’m fairly sure SketchUp has its own way of texture mapping that doesn’t produce usable UVs. And after textures have been taken care of, I went onto modifying the Paint Effects plants Read more...
Dame in pink dress
Written on August 16, 2006 at 5:44 pm, by Fogmann
It started out as Maya Paint Effect, after I increased the number of pots in a plant, pot being created once originally as a flower… So instead of having flowers all over the place, I had pots, and it looked funkey, as a dress, perhaps? And so I did a paintover. Fun, lots of it.
